With the newest version of After Effects CC 2014, we have lost the ability to output our rendered files to the H.264 format, as well as other given formats. However, you can still use Quicktime and render out H.264, or you can use the Adobe Media Encoder to do all your rendering for you, so you can continue to work within After Effects. Which is what Adobe had planned for you. They want you to continue working within After Effects, without having to stop to render out your projects.
This way you can use an external machine to render for you, instead of your production system.
Thank You
